What to expect in our Service

Family First
Being new can be intimidating, but we’re here to help make your first visit a great experience! You can expect to be warmly greeted and to feel right at home on your first visit.
Facility Tour
Our host team will give you a tour of our facility and will be available for any questions you may have. We do have 2 buildings and with this tour you will be able to see our children's building and our prayer room.
Tea & Coffee
We know that it can be a challenge sometimes to make it to church every Sunday morning. This is why we offer guests complimentary coffee, tea & water.
Restrooms
Restrooms are located right outside the worship center and both offer changing stations for babies. Both restrooms are stocked up with toiletries as well. We also have restrooms in the kids classrooms and in our River Kids building.
Parking
Parking is available all around the main building and in front of the River Kids building. We also have special designated parking for first time and disabled guests right in front of our main building.
Mom Friendly
The River's main building does have a nursing mothers room. The nursing mothers room is equipped with gliders, changing stations and is sound proof. This room also has a large window that sees into the main worship center. This makes it easier for mothers to nurse/feed their children, while enjoying service.

A Message from Jeremy
To partner and help lead at the River of Life seems like it’s been a long time coming. There are so many folks like the Gibbs, Skinners, and Ray’s, and McClendon’s who have blessed us in so many ways through the years. To now be a part of what God is doing in and through the people at the River of Life is such an honor. We will forever cherish the people we have known over these past few years and the encounters we’ve had with God along the way, the perspective that was gained, and the fresh passion to lift God’s name high in the Big Country.
I’ve been honored and blessed by the body of believers in Abilene for almost three decades now who desperately want to see the glory of God displayed through their various gifts as they walk in community and see the people they live and work with become more fully developing followers of Jesus Christ. My heart is to see the corporate body of believers understand more and more fully the deep love and God has for us.

A Message From Our Pastor
No matter where you’re coming from, you’ll find a place here where you can fit right in, continue to grow in your faith and put your faith into action through service at The River. God didn’t create us to walk through life alone. I believe that we grow together. As we come together to encourage one another, help and support one another, and do life together, God gives us hope and joy like we could never experience on our own. We invite you to do life with us. We know there are many great churches in Abilene, TX and we would be honored for you to be our guest at The River this Sunday at 9:00am or 10:30am. Stop by the info booth in the lobby before or after worship where we’ll be glad to talk to you personally, answer your questions and help you find your place at The River.
